LA-based NYIKO releases “Make You Feel” and announces pre-orders for the full-length album “Honesty” available April 9th, 2021 on Vinyl & Digital Formats via Trailing Twelve Records.
Los Angeles-based indie-pop extraordinaire NYIKO presents his latest single “Make You Feel” via Trailing Twelve Records. Acting as the final pane in a mosaic of singles released ahead of his forthcoming debut album “Honesty,” out April 9th, 2021.
“Make You Feel” is big. Sweeping synths, stadium drums, driving guitars, NYIKO’s signature croon immediately engage the listener. Centering around a wide-eyed desire to seize the day and experience passionate romance, the track balances a feeling of intimacy with larger than life catharsis. Tactfully casting shadows of 80’s new wave (ala The Cure) atop a field of contemporary production techniques, NYIKO secures a place in the new guard of the genre’s reimagining.
To further contextualize, NYIKO shared the following:
I wrote “Make You Feel” during a spell of nostalgia. I was thinking back on crushes I had when I was younger and that intense feeling you get with young love - like the whole world revolves around that one person. I wanted the song to have a sense of urgency - like a soundtrack to the experience of telling someone you love them for the first time.
