Chasing Dreams with Corserine and ELYXIR’s “Telluride” (2/24/22)
Corserine releases their new single “Telluride” available February 23rd on Digital Formats via Trailing Twelve Records.
California and central Scotland-based electronic music collective Corserine share their latest synth-wave gem “Telluride” set for digital release on February 23rd through Los Angeles-based Trailing Twelve Records. The project acts as a vehicle for the ideas of Caro Tyle (songwriting, production), Gylen Boardman (synthesizers), and Cam Perridge (engineer), with many of their songs featuring guest vocalists and musicians. Growing up in Scotland in the 1980s, one can quickly point to the era for both the sonic and thematic influence behind Corserine.
Featuring infectious vocals from Melbourne, Australia based ELYXIR, “Telluride” conjures images of neon-soaked speedways and Atari gameplay. Cosmic synths swell atop throbbing bass and dynamic percussion, while ELYXIR waxes poetic on the pain of chasing a dream.
Always something I can’t control / that keeps me running searching alone / and I can’t stop the sunset from dying / golden skies they all say goodbye
Recorded across home studios in Melbourne and Scotland, Tyle shares detail on the inspiration for “Telluride” below.
I have a degree in chemistry and remember Telluride being a type of mineral containing the element Tellurium. I liked the sound of it. The song is more of a free form journey. Ideal for that long drive.
“Telluride” is out February 23rd, 2022 on Digital Formats via Trailing Twelve. Listen below.

BIO
Corserine is an electronic music collective of childhood friends from California and central Scotland, formed in 2019. The project is a vehicle for the ideas of Caro Tyle (songwriting, production), Gylen Boardman (synthesizers), and Cam Perridge (engineer), with many of their songs featuring guest vocalists and musicians.
Growing up in Scotland in the 1980s, the members were all surrounded by a unique blend of musical genres and pop culture. With his mother and sister being classically trained pianists, Tyle first honed his skills as a guitarist in various rock and punk bands. In addition to having an encyclopedic knowledge of synthesizers, Boardman is classically trained in cello. The members cite various 1980’s science fiction films as both thematic and sonic inspiration - “in those films, there’s always a nightclub scene set in the not-too-distant futuristic dystopia. We’re basically making the music playing in those scenes.”
Corserine’s blend of dreamy pop textures, gritty electro, and muscular rhythms will please fans of Tycho, Com Truise, and Neon Indian.
Corserine is currently working on a full-length album slated for release in 2022.
BIO
Hailing from Melbourne, Australia- ELYXIR has grown up devouring a wide range of music, and working professionally as a topliner for half a decade for other artists. Venturing onto her own as a fully formed artist, her debut single Mother Mania with UK producer Neilio released on 28 July 2021 to rave reviews. The rocky uptempo number with slick guitars and ferociously powerful vocals and storytelling helped put ELYXIR on the map.
Stylistically sitting beautifully alongside Synthwave and Retrowave alumni such as PRIZM, Megan McDuffee and Jessie Frye, ELYXIR is exhilarated to join the incredible community of female synthwave and retrowave artists and is releasing an album at the end of 2022.
