Long Beach-based alt-pop artist Derek Simpson presents with his most bubbly track to date. “Open Water” uses a beautifully muted palette of pulsating synth, smooth guitar strumming, and infectious percussion - all coalescing around Derek Simpson’s rhythmic gift of gab.

From Derek: "Open Water was inspired by how overwhelming the prospect of taking responsibility for your own happiness is. That freedom is a lovely thing to understand but before it becomes fully realized, the idea of owning up to your action and inaction is terrifying."
